If you're moving or transporting items with significant monetary or sentimental value, here's what to know before and after your job.
This page covers guidance for items that are particularly valuable, fragile, or difficult to replace, such as artwork, antiques, jewelry, electronics, collectibles, and family heirlooms. These items require extra attention before, during, and after a job.
If you have high-value items that will be part of your move or delivery, take steps before the job begins:
Pre-job documentation is the single most useful thing you can do to protect yourself if a dispute arises later.
You have the right to observe how items are handled and to speak up if something concerns you. If you're not comfortable with how a particular item is being moved, say so before it leaves the ground. It's much easier to correct a packing approach before loading than after.
High-value item claims follow the same process as other claims. File through your booking in the Muvr app or at book.muvr.io within 48 hours of job completion. Include all documentation you have, including pre-job photos, receipts, and any appraisals.
For items with a very high replacement value, including a formal appraisal or original purchase receipt significantly strengthens the claim.
The strength of a high-value claim often comes down to pre-job documentation. Photos taken after the fact alone are much harder to evaluate than a clear before-and-after comparison.
We handle every claim carefully and aim for fair outcomes. However, we cannot guarantee specific results for any individual claim. The outcome depends on the evidence, the circumstances, and the review process. For items of exceptional value, consider whether additional precautions or specialist services are appropriate before booking.
