Claims review timeline
Here's what to expect after you submit a claim, including typical review windows and what can affect timing.
Standard review timeline
Most claims are reviewed within 3 to 7 business days of submission, assuming all required information was included. Complex cases or claims requiring additional documentation may take longer.
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays. A claim submitted on Friday evening will begin review on the following Monday.
What the review process looks like
- Submission received — you receive a confirmation with a reference number immediately after filing.
- Initial review — a claims specialist checks that all required information is present. If anything is missing, they'll reach out through the app.
- Assessment — the specialist reviews photos, descriptions, driver notes, and any other relevant information.
- Decision — you receive a notification with the outcome through the app.
- Resolution — if the claim is approved, the resolution is applied as described in the decision notification.
What can slow down a review
- Missing or unclear photos
- Incomplete item descriptions or missing values
- Claims filed after the 48-hour window (may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
- High submission volume during peak periods
How to check your claim status
You can check the status of an open claim at any time through the Muvr app or at book.muvr.io. Go to your booking and find the claims section. Status updates are posted there as the review progresses.
